Reflux, Heartburn & Gallbladder Problems
Fed up with heartburn, uncomfortable bloating, digestive pain or feeling as though certain foods just don't agree with you? Perhaps you've been taking acid- reducing medication (PPI's) for years and your digestion simply hasn't felt right for a long time, and you're not sure why.
What if I told you there were more ways to explore to help to reduce or eliminate your symptoms than simply avoiding trigger foods or managing the discomfort?
Nutritional Therapy through a functional medicine lens could be the approach you had never considered until now. As an acccredited 'Managing Reflux Practitioner' I'm confident I can help you feel like yourself again.

Acid Reflux & Heartburn:
Does this sound familiar to you?
-
Burning in your chest or throat, especially after eating
-
A sour or acidic taste in your mouth
-
Food or liquid coming back up after meals
-
Frequent burping, belching or uncomfortable fullness
-
Feeling bloated even after relatively small meals
-
A sensation of something being stuck in your throat
-
A persistent need to clear your throat
-
A hoarse voice, particularly in the morning
-
An unexplained cough, especially at night
-
Symptoms that worsen when lying down or bending over
-
Disturbed sleep because of reflux or discomfort
-
Feeling anxious about eating certain food
For many people, nutritional therapy isn't something they've looked into before. Rather than handing you a long list of foods to avoid, I explore your eating patterns, symptoms, lifestyle, health history and identify practical changes to help you recover, whatever your starting point.
I'm taking Omeprazole, Lansoprazole or other Acid- Reducing Medication- can you still help?
Yes, support is still available. For some people, long-term treatment is important, entirely appropriate and protective. There is still lots you can do to support other digestive symptoms that may co- occur.
However, for many others, particularly when symptoms have improved and there is no ongoing medical reason for long-term treatment, a supervised review may be worthwhile. If this is you, I'd recommend booking a FREE discovery call with me.
Persistant, inadequately controlled reflux can sometimes lead to complications over time, including,
Inflammation of the oesphagus
-
Damage or ulceration of the oesophageal lining
-
Barrett's oesophagus
-
Disturbed sleep
-
Dental enamel erosion
-
IBS symptoms
It really is worth addressing the causes and looking after reflux now.

Gallbladder Health:
Could your symptoms be connected?
Have you ever felt uncomfortable after a rich meal?
Perhaps you notice bloating, nausea, vomiting or a nagging discomfort beneath your right ribs or spreading to your shoulder. Maybe fatty foods seem harder to tolerate than they used to, or you experience recurring episodes of pain lasting 30 inutes to several hours.
It’s easy to put these symptoms down to ordinary indigestion.
But sometimes, the gallbladder or wider biliary system deserves a closer look.
Could These Be Gallbladder-Related?
Yes. And in many instances, nutritonal therapy can play a hugely supportive role in relieving these symtoms and often plays a significant part in managing certain gallbladder and biliary conditions.
The aim is never to 'flush' the gallbladder, dissolve stones with supplements or replace medical treatment. Instead, nutritonally look to:
-
establish regular, balanced eating patterns
-
adjust dietary fat intake where symptoms warrant it
-
support weight management
-
work to avoid increased gallstone risk
-
support other medically diagnosed conditions, like BAM alongside treatment
-
manage and relieve digestive symptoms
-
maintain adequate nutrition
-
apply neutraceutical and therapuetic interventions where approrpriate and safe to do so.
