Functional Testing
Q: What do you mean by Functional Testing?
Most people who feel unwell will receive (diagnostic) test results that come back as 'normal' despite the fact they still present with very real unpleasant symptoms.
This is because diagnostic testing looks for markers to 'diagnose' illness only.
Functional testing however, focuses on how well our body systems are functioning as a whole and has the ability to look at the bigger picture. This type of testing is most helpful to identify chemical and microbial imbalances, pathogens and/or toxins that might be contributing to your sub optimal health, symptoms or chronic conditions.

Alongside tongue, nail and facial evaluation tools, I can recommend the most advanced functional testing available to help determine the underlying dysfunctions in the body.

After analysing your results, it will be possible to devise a tailored functional medicine programme that will include therapeutic foods and/or a specific dietary protocol alongside possible supplementation and lifestyle recommendations.
*New for 2025*
Im excited to be able to provide a Health Fundamentals HTMA as part of every programme I now offer. This is an excellent test for addressing health at the cellular level, especially if you've been experiencing symptoms for a little while. It provides key insights into essential mineral imbalances and ratios, heavy metal toxicity, gut health, metabolic function and energy systems- key areas of concern as we age and fundamental imbalances that need to be addressed for long term resolution of various health conditions.
Home Testing: delivered to your door for ease & comfort
Comprehensive Stool Analysis
These comprehensive stool tests measure markers of digestion, absorption, and gut inflammation, gut microbial imbalances, and pathogens such as parasites.

Sample type: Stool
Turnaround time:15 days

Vaginal Microbiome Analysis
This vaginal microbiome test offers a thoughtful examination of your vaginal microbiota abundance, host inflammatory markers, and pH levels. By understanding your body’s unique vaginal ecosystem, you can make mindful choices to nurture your vaginal health.

Sample type: Vaginal swab
Turnaround time: 15 days

Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA)
This incredible test measures mineral levels and toxic metal concentrations in hair to assess nutritional imbalances, detoxification needs, metabolic type, gut health, energy patterns and potential health issues related to sub optimal or deficient minerals and their ratios.

Sample type: Scalp or pubic hair
Turnaround time: 10 days

Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO)
A non-invasive diagnostic tool used to detect excessive bacteria in the small intestine. It measures levels of hydrogen and methane gases in your breath after consuming a sugar solution, typically lactulose or glucose. Elevated gas levels suggest bacterial fermentation, a key sign of SIBO. The test helps identify digestive issues such as bloating, gas, diarrhea, or constipation. type:
Sample type: Breath test
